Six injured, one seriously, after New York hit-and-run crash

Victims and their families are often understandably outraged following a hit-and-run crash. Drivers are legally obligated to follow certain procedures following an accident. When they flee the scene, they are breaking the law. Not only that, they are also failing to fulfill their legal duty to take reasonable steps toward helping any injured victims. These victims and their families may desire to hold a hit-and-run driver accountable for their actions.

A recent crash in New York that resulted in multiple injuries involved a hit-and-run driver. Five vehicles were involved in the accident. According to reports, the accident occurred on a Sunday evening in Brooklyn. The driver who allegedly caused the crash to occur fled the scene following the accident. New York City Fire Department officials said that the suspect was later found and arrested.

Reports say that one person in the crash suffered injuries that were considered life-threatening. Six others were also injured, five of whom are in serious condition. Only one person walked away from the accident with minor injuries.

Serious injuries resulting from car accidents can be life-altering. Not only are victims burdened with emotional trauma, they also often have to suffer with physical pain and suffering. What’s more, on top of all of this, victims can be financially devastated by the car accident. They may be forced to shoulder the costs of medical expenses, vehicle repairs and more. This can be incredibly challenging.

Through legal action against a negligent driver, victims may be able to alleviate some of these financial burdens. They may not be able to enjoy the quality of life they were used to prior to the accident, but they can at least live their lives free from these financial consequences of the accident.
