Lawsuits over 2009 Taconic Parkway fatal accident settled

New Yorkers may remember a terrible accident on the Taconic Parkway in 2009 that left 8 people dead. The wreck was caused by a woman who was drunk and high on drugs and was driving the wrong-way. The van she was driving, which belonged to her brother, smashed head-on into another vehicle, killing three men. The drunk woman also died in the wreck, as well as the three children she was transporting.

Four lawsuits stemming from this terrible accident were recently settled. The claims were filed against the drunk driver’s estate as well as her brother, who owned the van the negligent woman was driving.
