3 die in fatal accident in upstate New York

Devastation can quickly strike a New York family once they find out that a loved one has been killed in a car accident. The family members may struggle with feelings of grief and anguish, coupled with disbelief. Financial damages admittedly can’t make up for the loss of the life of an individual in a fatal accident, but they may help family members to experience a sense of justice.

Three families are left with a lot of questions following a single car accident in Ulster County. Police arrived at the scene of a one-car collision, which occurred when a car ran into a tree. There, they found three individuals in the wreckage. Two of the individuals died at the scene of the crash, according to police.

Meanwhile, the third person suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital. He ended up dying there, authorities said. Police were continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

The family members of the deceased passengers can rightfully sue the estate of the driver who is thought to have crashed the car into the tree. Financial restitution from a successfully litigated wrongful death lawsuit can help to cover end-of-life expenses such as funeral costs as well as other damages permissible under New York law. This financial restitution sought must be based upon proof of negligence by another party to the fatal accident — in this instance the apparent loss of control of the vehicle by the driver. Although the driver died in this case, the driver’s estate can be sued, along with any separate owners of the vehicle involved in the crash.
