2 New York police officers injured in 2-vehicle crash

New Yorkers who have to spend a lot of time on the road because of their jobs are often at high risk of being involved in an accident. Whether it is because of a long commute or as part of a job’s duties, spending time on the road comes with its risks. However, regardless of whether a person is on the job or not when an auto accident occurs, victims of car accidents involving negligent drivers may have the right to compensation.

A recent car accident in New York involved two police officers. According to reports, the accident involved the two New York Police Department officers and a livery cab. On a Saturday night, at an intersection, the two police officers were driving in a police cruiser when the accident occurred. The cruiser collided with a cab, causing the cab to crash into a mailbox and plow through a crosswalk sign.

Reports say that the police officers were on the way to a reported knife-related assault at the time of the accident. Both police officers suffered injuries in the accident. The injuries were considered non-life-threatening. The cab driver, along with a passenger in the vehicle, both suffered minor injuries as well. The four victims were taken to a nearby hospital.

When victims are taken to a hospital for treatment following car accidents, the costs can quickly pile up. Not only do accident injuries often require expensive treatment, there are also transportation costs to consider. Victims are often forced to shoulder the bill of an ambulance ride, which can be more expensive than many anticipate. Pursuing legal action can sometimes result in victims being awarded compensation that can help alleviate some of these financial burdens.
