2 injured after New York crash involving garbage truck

Serious injuries are a common byproduct of car accidents. Given the high speed at which many of these accidents occur, victims are often lucky to walk away from such accidents alive. However, though lucky to be alive, these injuries can be absolutely life-altering for victims. Serious injuries, like head trauma, can cause myriad complications in a victim’s life.

A victim may no longer be able to perform the same functions they once were. For example, cognition can be greatly impacted by a head injury. If a serious injury results from a car accident involving a negligent driver, victims and their families have every right to be outraged.

A recent accident in New York involved a garbage truck and a delivery truck, according to officials and witnesses. Two were seriously injured as a result of the crash. The crash started when a private garbage truck that was travelling southbound rear-ended a stopped delivery truck. As a result of the collision, the driver of the delivery truck, along with a sanitation worker, were both transported to a nearby hospitals. Both suffered serious injuries from the crash but were said to be in stable condition.

According to one of the witnesses, the delivery truck was stopped in order to make a delivery when, unexpectedly, the garbage truck rear-ended it. One of the victims, the witness said, appeared to be lifeless and unmoving. Emergency responders put a neck brace on the victim.

Head and neck injuries resulting from car accidents tend to be serious. They can greatly impact a victim’s quality of life. When a victim is no longer able to work or enjoy a quality of life that they were used to, victims and their families are oftentimes understandably upset. They may desire to take legal action against the negligent driver.
