Four People Injured In Bronx Salon Collapse

Four People Injured In Bronx Salon Collapse

Sadly, four people, including one child, were injured this past Sunday in the Bronx when the first floor of a hair salon collapsed into the basement. The accident occurred at the New Klaman Hair Braiding store located at 1352 Prospect Avenue. According to Channel 4 NY , witnesses claim to have heard “strange noises” minutes before the floor began to shift, giving most patrons the opportunity to exit the building safely before the collapse.

The NYC Department of Buildings was immediately notified and violations were subsequently issued to the building owner due to his poor maintenance of the property. Inspectors reported the collapse was an isolated incident affecting a 15’ by 15’ foot section the floor, and that the remainder of the building was deemed stable. All three victims were transferred to the hospital for medical care and we wish them all a speedy recovery.
